Your Wedding, Earlier in the Day
A ceremony in the daylight. Drinks and conversation while the gardens are bright. A generous meal, heartfelt speeches and time to dance before the evening is far advanced. An earlier wedding can have a lovely rhythm of its own.
At Shambala, this begins with one of our existing wedding packages and a conversation about starting earlier and finishing earlier. You can keep the celebration you love and explore a different time of day for it. Our team will confirm which package, date and arrangements suit that plan.

Choose the package, then shape the timing
Begin with your guest numbers, the reception style you want and the inclusions that matter to you. Once the package is clear, we can talk through the earlier ceremony, meal and finishing times together.
Moving the day earlier does not automatically change its length or create different inclusions. The agreed package and running plan remain the starting point. Ask us to confirm access times, getting-ready arrangements and supplier requirements before you put times on your invitations.
Let the meal set the pace
An earlier reception may feel like a long lunch: good food, conversation and time to enjoy the people around the table. Talk with our team about how your package’s food and drinks can fit that rhythm.
Leave comfortable spaces between arrival, the ceremony, photographs and the meal. Speeches can sit naturally around the reception, with the cake and dancing following when they feel right. The day can be elegant and lively without depending on a late finish.
Work backwards to a calm morning
An earlier ceremony also means an earlier start for preparation. Check the time needed for hair, makeup, dressing, travel and any photographs beforehand. Ask your suppliers about their arrival and setup, rather than shifting only the ceremony time.
If you are considering a cottage stay, confirm availability and check-in arrangements separately. Staying on the Estate may help your plans, but an early wedding does not itself include early cottage access.
Tell guests what the day will look like
Clear invitations help guests plan travel, meals and transport. Give the ceremony time, when you would like them to arrive and the expected finishing time. If guests are staying on the mountain, they can then decide how to enjoy the rest of their visit.
An earlier finish can suit people who prefer to travel home sooner or would enjoy a quiet evening afterwards. It can also leave you with a little more time together after the celebration. Choose it because the rhythm feels right for you.
Keep room for photographs and dancing
Talk with your photographer about daylight, your chosen settings and the portraits you want. Plan a realistic amount of time away from your guests, and consider whether you want to return to the table quickly or enjoy a longer walk together.
If music and dancing matter to you, keep them in the plan. An earlier wedding can still have a joyful dance floor. The useful question is how to fit your priorities into the agreed hours, rather than what a daytime wedding is supposed to look like.
Come and imagine a different rhythm
Bring your ideas to a tour. Our five coordinators share the details of your celebration and can help you explore an earlier running plan for an existing package, subject to the selected date and arrangements.
