Micro-Wedding, Ceremony-Only or Estate Celebration: Which Feels Right for You?
A wedding does not become meaningful because it reaches a particular guest count. It becomes meaningful when the shape of the day feels true to you: the people are right, the pace feels comfortable and there is space to be present.
For some couples, that means gathering everyone they love for a full ceremony and reception. For others, it means an intimate table, a short guest list or simply exchanging vows in a beautiful setting. If you are deciding between a ceremony-only celebration, a micro-wedding and a larger estate wedding, begin with how you want the day to feel—not with what you think a wedding is supposed to look like.
Begin with the people
Write your first guest list without trying to reach a target. Who would you genuinely miss if they were not there? Who helps you feel relaxed, known and celebrated? That list will often tell you more than a package brochure can.
A small celebration can create closeness and conversation. A larger wedding can bring families, friendships and generations together in a way that may never happen again. Neither is more meaningful. They simply create different kinds of energy.
When a ceremony-only celebration may suit you
A ceremony-only wedding can be a beautiful choice when the vows themselves are the heart of the day. It may suit couples who want a simple, elegant gathering, who are planning a separate celebration elsewhere, or who would rather focus their time and budget on one thoughtfully created moment.
At Shambala Estate, ceremony-only celebrations currently start from $3,200 for up to 60 guests and include a bar tab. This is 2026 pricing; availability and conditions apply. Our team can explain what is included and help you consider timing, guest comfort, photographs and the way everyone will arrive and depart.
When a micro-wedding may feel right
A micro-wedding offers more than a ceremony while keeping the group intentionally small. It can allow you to spend real time with every guest, linger over food and drinks, and include accommodation without the momentum of a much larger event.
Shambala Estate micro-weddings currently start from $5,500 for up to 10 guests, including food platters, drinks and one night’s accommodation. This is 2026 pricing; availability and conditions apply. It can be an appealing middle path for couples who want a complete experience without a large guest list.
When an estate wedding may be the best fit
If you imagine the full progression from ceremony to pre-reception gathering, dinner, speeches and dancing, an estate wedding gives the celebration room to unfold. Shambala Estate can accommodate weddings of up to 150 guests, with four ceremony locations, two reception spaces and on-site accommodation.
Estate weddings currently start from $14,700 for 30 guests, including the ceremony, pre-reception gathering, reception, catering and beverages. This is 2026 pricing; selected dates and conditions apply. Package inclusions vary, so it is important to compare the complete experience rather than one headline price.
Choose the feeling before the format
Ask yourselves four questions: Do we want a quiet, intimate atmosphere or a room full of energy? How much time do we want with each guest? Which traditions and family relationships matter most? Would on-site accommodation make the experience easier or more special?
There is no correct answer. The best choice is the one that leaves you clearer, calmer and more confident about the people and moments you are creating the day for.
See how each option feels in person
Photographs and inclusions can narrow the choices, but walking through the spaces makes the decision more real. During a private tour, one of our wedding coordinators can listen to what matters to you, show you how different formats could flow and explain the current packages without pressure.
