A Tamborine Mountain Wedding for Brisbane Couples

Leave the city behind. Bring your favourite people.

You love your life in Brisbane. For your wedding, you might be imagining something that feels a world away from the everyday: garden paths instead of city streets, vows beneath the trees, and an evening with the people who matter most. On Tamborine Mountain, Shambala Estate gives you that sense of escape without asking your Brisbane guests to book a flight.

Make it a beautiful day out or a whole wedding weekend. With ceremony and reception spaces, gardens for photographs and cottages on-site, you can settle into one place and let the celebration unfold around you.

A destination feeling, within reach of Brisbane

The journey up the mountain marks a change of pace. Here, the setting becomes part of the occasion: leafy gardens, quiet corners and room to pause together. For couples whose working weeks are spent in Brisbane, that separation from daily routines can make your wedding feel like a shared getaway from the moment you arrive.

Tamborine Mountain also gives guests a reason to stay. A rainforest walk, time exploring Gallery Walk or a relaxed breakfast can turn the trip into more time together, rather than a quick hello between the ceremony and the dance floor. Your guests can choose the visit that suits them.

One journey up. A whole celebration together.

Once your guests have travelled from Brisbane, keep the next part easy. At Shambala, your ceremony, garden photographs and reception can all happen on the same estate, so there is no need for another drive between venues.

Choose from four ceremony locations and two reception spaces, the Galaxy Ballroom and Waterfall Pavilion. Imagine your vows in the Chapel or gardens, time to mingle while you take photographs, and a reception that feels like a natural continuation of the day. We will help you choose the spaces and package that suit your guest numbers and the atmosphere you want.

Make a weekend of the mountain

Staying nearby means you can wake up on the mountain, take your time getting ready and finish the evening without a drive back to Brisbane. Our four private cottages on-site offer a peaceful base for you and some of your favourite people, subject to availability.

The on-site cottages may not accommodate every wedding guest. Shambala Estate has an additional 9 cottages nearby, with a shuttle bus available. Talk with our team about accommodation availability and shuttle arrangements for your date, including pick-up points and timings.

For family and friends travelling together, a night or two away creates room for the moments around the wedding too: catching up the evening before, a quiet coffee, or one more breakfast together before heading home.

Getting here from Brisbane

You will find Shambala Estate at 104 Beacon Road, Tamborine Mountain QLD 4272, in the Scenic Rim and Gold Coast Hinterland. Travel time depends on where in Brisbane you start and the traffic on the day; use the map to plan your own route and allow time for the mountain roads and a relaxed arrival.

For guests returning to Brisbane that evening, decide on a designated driver or pre-booked transport in advance. For those staying nearby, coordinate accommodation and shuttle plans before sending final travel details. Share the arrival time, pick-up location and return arrangements so everyone can relax into the celebration.

Turn your venue visit into a mountain day out

The best way to know whether the journey is worth it is to come and feel the difference. Book a private tour, try the drive from your Brisbane home, and leave time to explore Tamborine Mountain afterwards.

Walk the ceremony and reception spaces, see where your photographs might happen and talk through accommodation for your people. You will leave with a clearer picture of how a Shambala wedding could feel — and how easily your plans can come together.
